9 month stats

Well it's hard to believe, but our little one is 9 months old. The time sure has flown by. The little booger is getting bigger and stronger and sillier every day. We had our doctor's appointment yesterday, so I thought I'd share some "Mason stats" with you.

He weighs 20 pounds, 1.5 ounces (44%). He's 29.75 inches long (91% - this stat is wrong because he wiggled and scooted himself down the table by about an inch and a half, so I'd say he's around 27-28 inches) and his head circumfrance is 45 centimeters (42%). All in all, pretty average!

*He can crawl really well now. I'd consider him a pro at this point. And he's fast, too. He can pull himself up onto the couch or the coffee ottoman or the seat of a chair. He pretty much started doing that the minute he got good at crawling. And he's starting to cruise a little bit.

*He has 2 teeth on the bottom in front. Another one (or two possibly) is starting to come on the top in front. It hasn't broken through yet, but you can tell it's swollen and for the past week-and-a-half, he's been a little cranky and working his tongue on it.

*He says "mama" really well and I think he's starting to associate it with me. The reason I think that is he starts going "mama mamamama" when he's hungry or tired or when he doesn't want to lie down to get his diaper changed...or when his nose is being suctioned (I don't get it - Woei's doing the actual suctioning!). Why can't he associate "dada" with the poopy diapers? I ponder this everytime I get a whiff of his stinky butt. I think this will have to be the next thing he learns. Seriously, though, on Saturday I went with my dear friend, Tina, to get pedicures for our birthdays and when we got back home, he saw me and got a big smile on his face and started going "mamammamama" and wanted me to pick him up. Do ya' think I was on cloud nine after that? You think right!

He says "dada" and "baba" really well also. And he also gets a big smile on his face when Woei walks in.

*He can walk with his walker toy or his truck. He has to be in the mood, though. Sometimes he just wants to play with it. Other times he's ready to go and he just laughs while he walks across the living room. And then cracks up even more when he hits the wall and I go "boom, boom." He thinks it's hilarious. Sometimes, too, he'll get lazy and just walk behind it on his knees. Crazy.

*He's starting to think Tucker's fur and tail are pretty cool and neat to grab onto really hard. Tucker, in turn, responds by licking his face to death. Mason then proceeds to let go and duck his head into the ground like an ostrich. With the two of them, it's starting to get interesting. Woei and I just give up now and let them go at it.

*He's got a little stranger anxiety. Not too, too bad, but if he hasn't seen someone in a while, he gets a little shy and wants to be held. After a while, though, he warms up. Toys help with the warming process (distraction!).

*Uuummm, what else - he still has chubby legs and chubby cheeks. Okay, I think that's the latest!

Pics are in the process and will be up soon - Promise!
